Available Scholarships In Singapore For Primary, Secondary, And Tertiary Levels Of Education

These scholarships are available to Singaporeans at the primary, secondary, and post-secondary levels of study.

Edusave Scholarship and Awards

Edusave Scholarship and awards are available to all Singaporean students studying full time at a primary or secondary level in a Government or Government-aided school, an independent school, a specialised school or Government-supported special education school.

Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools

Based on their PSLE results, Singaporean students who are in the top one-third of the total number of Secondary One pupils admitted to all independent schools are granted the Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools (EESIS).

Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards

The Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards [E(IS)YA] are awarded to Singaporean students in independent schools who are not recipients of the Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools (EESIS) or the Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP). These are awarded to the top 5% of pupils in each level of an independent school, depending on their total school examination performance for the previous year.

Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools

The Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP) – Secondary 3 and Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP) – Junior College 1 are awarded to Singaporean students who are not recipients of the Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools (EESIS) and are admitted into Integrated Programme at Independent School based on their performance in the Integrated Programme Scholarships Test (IPST) or O-Level Examination.

 

Edusave Scholarships for Primary Schools

All Singaporean students enrolled in primary 5 or 6 in a Government or a Government-aided school, are eligible for the Edusave Scholarship for Primary Schools if they are among the top 10% of students of their level based on their overall school examination results for the year. The prize is valued at $350.

Edusave Scholarships for Secondary Schools

All Singaporean students studying in a Government or Government-aided secondary school who are in the top 10% of their level based on their overall school examination results for the year are eligible for the Edusave Scholarship for Secondary Schools. The prize is valued at $500.

Edusave Merit Bursaries

Edusave Merit Bursary is available to all Singaporean students in Government and Government-aided schools, junior colleges/centralized institute, independent schools or institutions, specialized schools or Institute of Technical Education who are not recipients of any Edusave Scholarship if they are within the top 25% of each level and course in their schools and their monthly gross household income does not surpass $5,000. The values of the Edusave Merit Bursary for each level are $200 for Primary 1 to 3, $250 for Primary 4 to 6, $350 for Secondary 1 to 5, $400 for Pre-University 1 to 3 and $500 for Institute of Technical Education.

Edusave Good Progress Awards

Edusave Good Progress Award is available to all Singaporean students from primary 2 onwards in Government and Government-aided schools, junior colleges/centralized institute, independent schools or institutions, specialized schools or Institute of Technical Education who are not recipients of any Edusave Scholarship or Edusave Merit Bursary, if they fall among the highest 10% who have gained substantial improvement in their academic performance compared to the previous year. The values of the Good Progress Awards are $100 for Primary 2 to 3, $150 for Primary 4 to 6 $200 for Secondary 1 to 5,$250 for Pre-University 1 to 3 and $400 for Institute of Technical Education.

Edusave Awards for Achievement, Good Leadership and Service

Edusave Award for Achievement, Good Leadership and Service is for all Singaporean students from primary 4 onwards in Government and Government-aided schools, junior colleges/centralized institute, independent schools or institutions, specialized schools or Institute of Technical Education who exhibit strong leadership and community service skills. The awards are presented to a uttermost of 10% of Singaporean students in every school selected by the school at the end of the year. The values of the awards are $250 for Primary 4 to 6, $350 for Secondary 1 to 5, $400 for Pre-University 1 to 3 and $500 for Institute of Technical Education.

Edusave Character Awards (ECHA)

Edusave Character Award is given to which is given to all Singaporean students in Government and Government-aided schools, junior colleges/centralized institute, independent schools or institutions, specialized schools or Institute of Technical Education, who demonstrate outstanding personal qualities through their conduct and activities. The awards are given to a maximum of 2% of Singaporean students in each school at the end of the year. The values of the awards are $200 for Primary 1 to 3, $350 for Primary 4 to 6, $500 for Secondary 1 to 5, $500 for Pre-University 1 to 3, and $500 for Institute of Technical Education

Achievement Awards for Special Education Students

Achievement awards are given deserving students who meet the school-based criteria for the awards. All Government-funded special education schools are given an annual lump grant of $100 per Singaporean student.
